ABOUT THE ROLE

We are a leading authorized Starlink reseller in Lesotho, delivering high-speed, low-latency satellite internet to businesses, rural communities, government entities, and customers nationwide. As Senior Technology Officer - Network Operations, you will own and lead our core network operations — from multi-Starlink Terminal deployments and aggregation to customer network integration, troubleshooting satellite connectivity issues, and building reliable infrastructure that supports our growing subscriber base. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone passionate about satellite technology, who thrives in a fast-evolving environment, and wants to shape the future of internet access in Lesotho.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, deploy, and manage aggregated Starlink connectivity solutions (multi-terminal deployments, load balancing, failover, andbonding).

  • Oversee installation, configuration, and optimization of customer premises equipment (CPE), routers, switches, wireless access points, and firewalls for Starlink-connected sites.

  • Implement and maintain SD-WAN overlays, traffic shaping, QoS policies, and VPN solutions (addressing CGNAT limitations).

  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot latency/jitter/outage issues, and ensure high availability for business-critical applications.

  • Lead network security posture: firewalls, segmentation, intrusion detection, and LCA regulation compliance.

  • Develop documentation, SOPs, and training materials for junior technicians and installation teams.

  • Collaborate with Starlink support channels, vendors, and internal teams to resolve escalated issues.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

  • Experience: 5+ years in network engineering, with 2+ years in a senior/lead role (ISP, satellite, or wireless environments preferred).

  • Technical Skills: Expertise in Starlink deployments, Routing & Switching (BGP, OSPF, VLANs), SD-WAN, and Firewalls/VPNs (IPsec, OpenVPN, WireGuard).

  • Equipment: Familiarity with MikroTik, Peplink, Cisco, Fortinet, Ubiquiti, and Wi-Fi 6 technologies.

  • Certifications: CCNP/CCIE, MikroTik MTCRE/MTCINE, Fortinet NSE, or equivalent.

  • Eligibility: Role is open only to Lesotho Nationals.

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Excellent problem-solving in dynamic, sometimes remote environments.

  • Strong leadership skills to guide a growing technical team.

  • Ability to explain complex network concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for site visits.
